About the Artist

Paulette BaronPaulette Rosner Baron has been beading since 1994, and teaching bead weaving classes in the Washington, D.C. area since 1996. In addition to teaching around her home base, Paulette also teaches at the Bead and Button Show, Bead Expo, and at Bead Fest.

Having earned her Fine Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University, she became a Graphic Designer. But it was when she became involved with beads that she found true calling. Her need to be creative and to work with colors and design had finally found a home. She has become known for creating three dimensional sculptural pieces of art out of beads. Her pieces utilize different sizes and shapes of beads and are made using a wide assortment of off-loom bead weaving stitches.

Paulette’s freeform sculptural brick stitch work is featured in Diane Fitzgerald's book, "Beading With the Brick Stitch." Two of her freeform sculptural peyote creatures were in the 2005-2006 traveling exhibition "The Beaded Figure." Her Pinwheel Garden necklace won 2nd place in the 2005 Bead Dreams exhibition. This piece is also in the Dairy Barn traveling exhibit “Bead International 2006”. Paulette is one of the artists featured in the Japanese publication “The Best Collection of Beadweaving Stitches by 9 American Bead Artists” by Kumiko Mizuno Ito.

Although Paulette has become well known in the beading community, she still strives to create unique and original pieces that will both satisfy her need to create and keep her students busy with new projects.
